Word on The Street: Kano state governor caught accepting bribe, Davido visits Atiku and more

It’s a brand new week and what better way to begin than by catching up with interesting gists from the past weekend? Here you go.

Caught in the act

Kano state Governor Abdullahi Ganduje

Yesterday, the Daily Nigerian released an exclusive story on the Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s corruption exploits.

In a video already making rounds on social media, the Governor is seen receiving wads of cash in US dollars from contractors. According to the report, the video is one of 15 clips and the governor was receiving $230,000 out of a $5 million bribe which has been ongoing since 2017.

As expected, the Governor has denied the report claiming that the video was doctored but we already know Nigerian politicians are synonymous with corruption, so it’s going to be very hard for him to convince us.

Kanayo O. Kanayo is now a law graduate

The veteran Nollywood actor shared the news on social media this past weekend.

Graduating from the Faculty of Law of the University of Abuja, Kanayo O. Kanayo poses with his fellow graduands in the customary marker-filled signing out white shirt.

We congratulate Kanayo as he shows us that it’s never too late to follow your dreams.

Davido and Chioma visit Atiku in Abuja

Apparently, Davido and his crew were in Abuja this past weekend. And the superstar and his girlfriend decided to pay 2019 presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar a visit.

If you recall, Davido has in the recent past declared his support for the PDP as he campaigned for his Uncle, Senator Adeleke who ran under the party umbrella during the Osun state governorship elections last month.

Even though his uncle lost, it’s obvious that David is still in support of the party and laying some political foundations for himself. We’ll see how that plays out in years to come.

Shatta Wale proposes to his girlfriend on stage

During the launch of his album titled Reign on Saturday night, thousands of fans of Shatta Wale, controversial Ghanaian dancehall artiste witnessed his proposal to his longtime girlfriend Shatta Michy.

The couple have a child together. We wish them a happy life together.

In other news, have you listened to Advice, Sarkodie’s diss song for Shatta Wale? You should.

Clean G Boy, not plus

Sounds like I’m dropping some bars yes? Wrong. Actually, It was how a 24-year-old Nigerian man described his occupation on social media. If you didn’t know, “Clean G boy, no plus” means yahoo boy (internet fraudster) that doesn’t use juju.

Now, he was not just bragging for no reason, he’s actually looking for a wife, so he enlisted the help of popular Twitter handle, Gidi Traffic.

The tweet which has now been deleted listed information about the young man including his job which caught everyone’s attention. Is Yahoo Yahoo even a real job? You might have to ask Keno Kingz.
