Welcome to today’s episode in the world of sports where I pick out the most talked about stories over the week and give analysis on it.

Mo Salah Receives his Own Statue

A statue of Mohamed Salah was presented at the World Youth Forum in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. However, the piece of art, sculpted by Mai Abdel Allah, has quickly become a meme, as happened when the first images surfaced of Cristiano Ronaldo’s statue at Madeira Airport. It has been compared to Todd Flanders from ‘The Simpsons’, Rose from ‘Titanic’ and Marv from ‘Home Alone’.

 

Man City remain Top of Table

With Liverpool playing out a 1 -1 draw with Arsenal in a mouth-watering fixture, Manchester returned to the top of the log with a 6 – 1 thrashing of a Southampton side who are still winless in seven matches. Aguero scored his 150th premier league goal as sterling, Sane and David Silva rounded up the goal chart.

There were victories for Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Watford, West Ham, Everton and Leicester.

 

Westbrook Out with Sprained Ankle

Russel Westbrook who has been averaging 25.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game left in the third quarter of the game against the New Orleans Pelicans in pains. He was leaping for a rebound and landed awkwardly, rolling in pain. He then limped off to the locker room while been assisted by trainers.

Despite the Injury to the Westbrook, OKC still came out with a Win, making it their third straight win 122-116. More update on the extent of Russel’s injury will be given when they play Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

 

Larry Drew to remain as Cavs Coach

Cleveland Cavaliers Cavaliers interim coachLarry Drew has agreed to a contract which keeps him as the Head coach of the Cavs for the rest of the season and will receive a partially guaranteed deal for 2019/2020 season.

Since the firing of Tyronn Lue who was on a 0-6 start to the season, Drew is presently on a 1-2 streak. A year ago Drew was on an 8-1 streak while Lue was sidelined with Illness. Wishing him a successful season ahead.
